RANDY WASHINGTON VS. TRIPLE R TRUCKING. The estate of a woman fatally injured on Route 21 in Belleville agreed to a $1,040,000 settlement of a suit against a trucking company and a motorist. According to Martin F. Kronberg, attorney for the estate, Michelle McCullough was driving north on Route 21 in Belleville when she came upon a traffic slowdown caused by a one car accident of a vehicle heading south on Route 21 being driven by Emiliano Gualan.
Her vehicle was then struck by a truck owned by Triple R Trucking causing her to be fatally injured. The truck driver blamed the accident in part on an icy roadway condition. The settlement was paid by both Gualan’s insurance company and the insurance company for Triple R Trucking.
The suit was also brought, according to Kronberg against the State of New Jersey and the Township of Belleville for failure to maintain Route 21 in a safe condition. That portion of the case remains pending.
(Settlement of $1,040,000).
